Let’s Start By Addressing The Elephant In The Room: Can You Really Build A Serious, High-Paying Career As An Emcee?

Hey,

Devon Brown here, founder of Emcee Directory.

On this page, I’ll show you the truth about building an emcee career — from my own experience going from free gigs to $10,000-a-day stages, and the three things every emcee needs to grow their business.

But first, I want to address the question:

“Can you really build a serious, high-paying career as an emcee?”.

A lot of people think of emceeing as a ‘side-hussle’.

Heck, from 2005 to 2015, I thought emceeing was just a fun way to earn a few thousands bucks on the side each year. I desperately wanted to get on more stages, make more money, and impact more people, but back then I didn’t understand that emceeing could be my path to that.

I thought being a keynote speaker was the only way to stage success. Then, in 2015, a few things happened that changed my perspective. That was the year I finally leaned into emceeing properly.

And after more than 10 years of taking it seriously, I can tell you this:

Emceeing is not some tiny side-hussle thing.

For the right person, it can become a serious, high-paying career.

But don’t take my word for it.

Let me show you.

Here are just a handful of my ‘receipts’ from the past few years.

$7,491 To Host A 200-Person Event In Montego Bay, Jamaica — At a 5 STAR ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT!

These Are My ‘Receipts’ As An Emcee.

They’re proof you can build a real, multi-six figure career hosting gigs.

Over the past 10 years I’ve gone from charging $1,000 a day,

to over $10,000 a day. From doing four gigs a year, to having my entire calendar booked out 18 months in advance. From making less than $15,000 a year as a ‘fun little side-hustle’, to earning more than $200,000 a year — and a total of $1,625,384 in the past five years.

I get on more stages and get paid more money than 99% of speakers.

How have I achieved all this?

Well, along the way, I’ve discovered the following...

To Become A High-Paid, Fully Booked Emcee, You Really Need Just 3 Things

1. Market Positioning That Makes You The Obvious Choice

The frustration of not getting enough gigs often boils down to positioning.

You might be awesome on stage. You might have great energy, good crowd control, and the ability to make a room come alive. But if an event organizer can’t quickly understand what makes you different from every other emcee they’re considering, how are they supposed to choose you?

At that point, they usually compare on price.

And once that happens, you’re stuck trying to be the cheapest option in the room. That is a race to the bottom no emcee wants to be in.

One of the reasons I’ve done so well as an emcee is because I became known for enrolment events. I’m very good at setting up sales from stage, creating energy in the room, and helping an event flow toward a specific monetary outcome. Very few emcees can do that at a high level.

So the question is:

What are you great at?

What kind of room, audience, or event are you uniquely built for?

And how do you find the words to express that so the right organizer can instantly see why you’re the obvious choice, irrelevant of your price?

That’s the first thing you need: correct positioning in the marketplace.

2. High-Level Emcee Skills That Make You Impossible To Replace

Another reason so many aspiring emcees fall short is because they try to apply public speaking skills to emceeing. And while speaking and emceeing are connected, they are not the same thing

Another reason so many aspiring emcees fall short is because they try to apply public speaking skills to emceeing. And while speaking and emceeing are connected, they are not the same thing.

It’s like being a great football player and assuming that automatically makes you a great football coach. The skills overlap, but the job is completely different.

As an emcee, you need to master things most speakers never think about: powerful speaker introductions, filling unexpected time, telling the right story at the right moment, managing the room’s energy, handling problems in real time, and becoming the bridge between the audience, the speakers, and the event’s purpose.

One of the biggest reasons more than 80% of the events I host bring me back is because I’ve built invaluable emcee skills that are just impossible to replace. I’ve had some events move their dates to suit my availability!

You too need to get so good that organizers feel like they can’t run the event without you. That’s how you get rehired. And that’s how you build a calendar that gets booked out months — even years — in advance.

3. Visibility In Front Of The Right Events

Finally, it’s important to realize you can be the best emcee in the world, with incredible skills and perfect positioning, but if the right people don’t know you exist, how are you supposed to fill your calendar with gigs?

That’s the visibility problem.

You need to get yourself in front of the right events and people.

The trouble is, most aspiring emcees are great on stage, but are terrible at marketing themselves so the right events find, and reach out to them.

Let me prove it to you.

Think about the last three months for a moment.

How many cold emails did you send?

How many got a positive reply?

And how many event organizers found you online, picked up the phone, and asked about hiring you for their event?

If your phone is not ringing consistently, you do not just have a booking problem. You have a visibility problem. Because it does not matter how good you know you are on stage. What matters is how clearly the right events can see that for themselves, and how often you are being contacted by organizers who already understand your value.

That is the part most emcees never fix.

But through this page, you’ll see exactly how we help you fix it.

Introducing:

The Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator Workshop

The Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator is the world’s only in-person emcee workshop designed to help aspiring and working emcees grow their career and get on more stages by doing three big things:

⒈ Creating your positioning so you stand out in the market

⒉ Leveling up your skills so organizers hire want you back

⒊ Becoming more visible so the right events can find you

By the time you leave the workshop, you won’t just understand how to position yourself as an emcee. You’ll have written a full Emcee Directory profile that shows hiring event organizers who you are, what makes you different, and why you could be the obvious choice for the right event.

You also won’t just learn high-level emcee skills in theory. You’ll practice the same types of skills that events pay me $10,000 a day to use on their stages, so you can start using them at your own gigs.

And you’ll leave with fresh photos and videos you can use on your website, socials, and profile, plus new relationships with world-class emcees and peers who are serious about growing in this industry.

Anyone can do all of this themselves.

But what you can’t do is do it over one weekend with someone who has earned more than $1 million from emceeing in the past five years.

Me, my team, and a selection of some of the highest-paid emcees in the world will show you exactly what you need to do, say, and fix so your career instantly starts looking like something you can really grow.

Here’s An Overview Of What Happens Inside The Workshop

Day 1: Position Yourself As A Must-Hire Emcee

Day 1 starts by isolating your uniqueness. We match your uniqueness to the events you want to serve. Then we move to implementation. We begin to use it on your Emcee Directory profile, in your outreach, as part of your social media etc, all so you start getting more inquiries from more of the right events. You also get professional media shots taken.

By the end of day 1, you’ll have:

Identified your ‘Unique Emcee DNA’ so you attract clients that are the best fit for your skill set, background, and experience level

● Matched your specialty with high demand clients and businesses

● A clear ‘differentiating factor’ that puts you at a massive advantage over anyone calling themselves just an ‘emcee’

● Competitively priced your services so you get paid your worth

● A directory profile that gets attention, clicks, and inquiries

● An outreach process that puts you in front of your ideal events

Professional headshots and videos that attract your ideal events and position you as a professional they can trust

Legitimized your business so you feel confident in your future

Stopped second guessing if you’ve picked the correct niche or positioning in the emcee market. You’ll know your uniqueness and exactly how to communicate it with great value.

Built new relationships with a small but mighty group of like-minded emcees who have your back (my team and I included!)

Day 2: Advanced Emcee Skills and Strategies To Become Devastatingly Good On Stage

On Day 2 I’ll give you my ENTIRE bag of skills for hosting events - skills that make audiences hang on your every word, do exactly as you ask, and make event organizers want to re-book you for every event they run.

You’ll practise these skills live at the event.

I’ll coach you and provide feedback to help improve your skills.

You’ll learn many devastatingly effective techniques for massively increasing audience engagement and sales. And even if you never host sales events, these techniques will still 100x your value to planners.

You’ll know:

How to adapt my Dynamic Engagement Formula™ (the same one event planners pay me $10K a day for) to any event you host: high- energy sales events, corporate conferences, awards shows, virtual events, or any room where it would help to have a group of people listening to your words and following your every command.

● The 3 rules to delivering standout speaker introductions (including the formula that make speakers feel so hyped they want me on their stages again and again. One famous speaker even paid me a $1000 bonus because they loved my intro so much!)

● A bank of go-to resources to kill time, recover from mistakes, or re-engage the crowd (this skill alone will have event planners begging you to come back and work on their future events!)

● A world class story-telling system for creating your own “Story Toolbox” to tell stories people can’t stop listening to

● When to tell your story on stage as an emcee (and when not to!)

● How to entertain an audience effortlessly while overcoming the challenges like interruptions, distractions, and large audiences

● Secret strategies that immediately “earn an audiences know, like and trust” so they’re engaged from the first minute to the last

How to ADD value to an event before you even get on stage

● How to make event planners ‘happy’ to give you a raise

● And a LOT more!

You’ll finish the day not just knowing what to do on stage, but how to show up before the event starts, shine when it begins, and stand out so powerfully that event organizers want to hire you again and again.

This day alone will be worth the entire investment of the workshop.

You’ll walk out of the room with more emcee skills, strategies, and on-stage confidence than 99% of the emcee industry — and you’ll be instantly more valuable to every event organizer in the world.

But for some of you, the workshop doesn’t end there.

There’s one more opportunity to accelerate even further.

Optional Day 3: A Professional Sizzle Reel — Scripted, Filmed & Produced For You

When I decided to take emceeing seriously in 2015, an event planner told me the smartest thing I could do was create a stand-out sizzle reel.

She was right.

A great reel shows how you show up on stage in a way no written bio ever could. That’s why we’ve added an optional Day 3 for those who don’t already have a high-quality reel (or want a far better one).

If you choose to attend this day, you’ll get:

A custom-written script that speaks to your dream clients

● Video coaching so you look polished and world-class on camera

Cues on how to stand, speak, and deliver your message

● The same level of quality behind the videos that helped me ‘wow’ event planners before meeting and make me an easy hire

Everything taken care of post-filming: editing, adding B-roll footage (if you have it), cutting, and polishing so it looks cinematic

A promotional asset you can use immediately in your profile and across socials to get more inquiries and more bookings

This workshop could be the most valuable few days of your life.

It could be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to you.

But I understand there’s always the fear.

“Is The Workshop Really Worth Attending?”

Listen To (Or Read) What The Class Said.

What Does The Workshop Actually Look Like?

Most workshops are dull because you sit through hours of dry theory and leave with a notebook full of ideas you may never use.

The Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator is different.

We teach, practise, give feedback and help you build real pieces of your emcee business in the room. And because everyone there loves the stage, the whole weekend feels supportive and genuinely a lot of fun!

Take a look for yourself:

3 Incredibly Valuable Bonuses You Get With The Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator

As you can see, The Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator is not your usual speaking workshop. It’s built specifically for emcees — and it’s led by an emcee who went from hosting events for free to charging $10,000 a day, with a calendar booked more than 12 months in advance.

In one transformative weekend, you’ll uncover what makes you different, turn it into positioning that helps you stand out, practise high-level emcee skills, and start putting yourself in front of the right events.

And that’s not all.

When you join the workshop, you also get access to these 3 bonuses.

Bonus #1: Get Your 3 Night Hotel Stay PAID For PLUS $300 Travel Credit For Your Trip [Value $1000]

I know what it’s like flying across the country for an event.

I've been doing it for over 10 years, and so I’m aware that hotel costs, Ubers, flights, and airport food that costs more than a steak can add up.

And I don’t want that to be the reason you miss out on this opportunity.

So, for anyone who secures their spot at least 21 days before the event starts, I’m doing something exceptional I might never do again:

I’m covering your 3-night hotel stay—and giving you a $300 travel credit to put toward your flight, gas, extra meals, or whatever else you like.

That means:

✅ You don’t pay a single cent for your hotel room

✅ You get $300 back in your pocket before the event even starts

✅ You can focus fully on your future—not your finances

We’ll Feed You While You’re Here, We’ll Build Your Business With You, And Now - We’ll Even Cover Your Stay!

This might be madness, but honestly, I want you to experience what it’s like to get treated the way a premium emcee should be treated.

That’s why you’ll be staying at the Hyatt Place Atlanta Perimeter Center — a modern, comfortable spot in Atlanta’s Perimeter Business District.

You’ll be just a short 6-minute walk from Perimeter Mall if you want to grab anything. You’ll be connected to the MARTA station by a skywalk, so getting from the airport or downtown is stupid-easy. And you’ll have a clean, quiet, premium space to come back to after each workshop day.

The rooms are modern.

The staff take care of you.

There’s a fitness centre if you want to train…

And a bar and restaurant downstairs where you can decompress, network with other emcees or spouses you bring along, or just kick back and celebrate the fact that you’re doing something big for your career.

In short?

You’ll be staying somewhere that matches the level of the emcee you’re becoming; not crammed in a budget room like you’re on a school trip!

But, I’ll reiterate: this offer is only valid for those who sign up 21 days before the event begins.

Bonus #2: Premium Membership On Emcee Directory For 1 Year

[Value $720]

As the directory grows, we’re working to bring more and more event organizers to the site through content, blogs, podcast features, magazine placements, paid ads, and other visibility campaigns designed to educate the events industry on the value of great emcees like you.

As a Booked & Paid graduate, your profile will receive one full year of premium membership and search visibility inside the directory.

That means when organizers search for emcees who match your skills, your name appears among the first profiles they see. You won’t be buried at the bottom, hoping someone scrolls far enough to find you.

You’ll have a stronger profile, premium placement, and a better chance of being seen by the right organisers as the platform continues to grow.

And when you combine that visibility with the profile we help you build at the workshop, your directory page transforms into a professional page that shows organizers why you are the only emcee for their event.

Bonus #3: The “Life After BAP” Implementation Plan and Support System [Value $1200]

The workshop gives you the breakthrough weekend.

But what happens after you go home matters just as much.

That’s why you’ll also get our Life After BAP plan — a structured path to keep applying what you learned, growing your name in the industry, and moving toward more stages alongside your fellow graduates.

You’ll also get access to a private monthly coaching call for 12 months with one of our Elite Emcees, Coach Jimmy Nelson. Jimmy has hosted for brands like GoPro, Beachbody, and GoHighLevel. He’s one of the most experienced and generous emcees you could learn from.

Each month, Jimmy will help you work through your biggest sticking points, answer your questions, keep you accountable, and help you keep moving forward long after the workshop ends.

So you’re not leaving with a notebook full of ideas.

You’re leaving with clear positioning, a practical plan, a community of fellow graduates to bounce ideas off, and a world-class emcee in your corner, helping you to continuously grow your emcee career.

The 12 Month Emcee Directory Inquiry Guarantee

What if you do all the work and still you don’t get more bookings?

That’s exactly why we created this guarantee.

If, within 12 months, you do not receive at least 10 emcee inquiries through Emcee Directory, we’ll create, run and pay for advertising campaigns to help get you seen by more relevant event organizers.

Those campaigns may feature you directly and send organizers to your profile page or to a category where your profile is positioned to be seen.

In other words, we are not just teaching you what to do and wishing you good luck. We’re giving you everything you need to succeed and if the inquiries still don’t come through, we’ll put our own money behind you with paid advertising to get you in front of more event organizers.

My Emcee Business Has Generated $1,625,384 In The Last 5 Years

If you’re sitting there thinking, “There’s no way I could ever build an emcee career like that,” you might be right. But you’re almost certainly not going to find out by trying to figure everything out alone.

Your best chance is to get around someone who has already done what you want to do and learn the skills that helped him do it, and then get support from him and his team as you apply it to your own career.

That’s what this workshop is designed to give you.

Not a magic button or a guarantee that you’ll become me.

But a serious head start,  with a clear and progressive path to follow, and the kind of world-class guidance most emcees will never get access to.

Final Note: You Can Only Get More In Life By Saying Yes

Before I sign off, the last thing I’ll say to you to is this:

Even if you’re remotely interested in joining the workshop, do not click away from this page and ‘think about it’. One MAJOR reason I have had the success I’ve had in my career is because of my willingness to say ‘yes’ to every single opportunity that has been put in front of me.

Saying ‘yes’ has been a huge contributing factor to me going from $1,000 to $10,000 a day, earning $1,625,384 in five years, and finding myself on stages with some of the most famous people in the world.

If you’ve got this far, say yes to your dreams.

Say yes to getting booked and paid.

Say yes to joining us at the accelerator.

I hope you choose to become part of the new wave of professional emcees who build their career faster and easier than the industry has ever seen before… but the next step, well, that’s down to you.

I hope you make the best choice for your future.

FAQ’s

Where does the workshop take place?

We’ll be holding the workshop in Atlanta, GA (USA).

Where should I book to stay during the workshop?

You don’t need to worry about that – we’ve got you covered!

When you book your place at the workshop, we book AND pay for your room in the same hotel the workshop is being held at: The Hyatt Place Atlanta Perimeter Center. The whole team stays in the hotel – so you can trust us when we say it’s a great place to stay the weekend!

The hotel is central, the rooms are modern, there’s a fitness centre included – and there’s a bar and restaurant where you can decompress, network with other emcees or spouses you bring along, or just kick back and celebrate the fact that you’re doing something big for your career!

Atlanta’s a long way – do you run workshops in different cities?

No, right now Atlanta is the only city we run this workshop in.

We understand Atlanta might be some distance from where you live (we’ve had attendees fly in from the UK and New Zealand!), but we don’t want the cost of travel to get in the way of your emcee goals. That’s why we offer a limited number of $300 travel credits for each workshop.

When you sign up, we’ll send you $300 to spend on travel.

But that’s only IF there are credits left for your workshop.

The best thing to do is apply, and if you’re accepted, speak with our booking agent, Lisa, about the possibility of securing $300 travel credits.

What happens after I apply?

Once you apply, you’ll be taken to a page where you can book a short call with Lisa, our events booking agent. On the call, Lisa will walk you through the workshop, explain everything you get, answer your questions, and help you decide if it’s right for you. If everything feels good, you’ll have the opportunity to secure your place at the workshop.

And just to be clear, this isn’t a high-pressure sales call.

We only want the right people in the room – people we genuinely believe we can help. If we don’t think that’s you, we’ll tell you. No hard feelings. We don’t want your money unless we’re confident this will work for you.

What makes this workshop different?

The Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator is the only workshop in the world specifically designed to help you build and scale an emcee business.

Most speaking workshops focus on helping you become a better speaker. Our workshop is very different to that. You’ll learn the emcee-specific skills that get you booked, help you deliver standout performances, and keep you getting rehired again and again. Alongside that, we’ll help you build the business side of things too — how to position yourself and turn your time on stage into consistent income.

If your goal is to become a better speaker, there are plenty of options out there. If your goal is to get booked and paid consistently as an emcee, the Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator is the only workshop for you.

Can I bring my significant other?

Due to the extremely limited number of seats, BAP is designed as a one seat per emcee experience. Each spot is reserved for someone actively building and growing their own emcee business.

Because of that, we don’t allow additional attendees to attend with you.

However – if your significant other is also your active business partner (for example, helping with sales, marketing, or operations), reach out to us and we can talk through possible options on a case-by-case basis.

Outside of that, your significant other is welcome to be around, visit, or say hello, but the actual training is reserved for registered students only.

What do I walk away with?

You’ll leave the workshop with a completely new - or repositioned - emcee business, built with you over the weekend by our team. Together, we’ll dial in your positioning so you stand out from the competition, build your Emcee Directory profile, shoot high-quality headshots and a professional sizzle reel to grab attention online, and equip you with the standout emcee skills that get you rehired again and again.

This isn’t a workshop where you come to just learn ‘more information’.

It’s about growing quickly and getting tangible results in your business.

What happens after the workshop?

First, you’ll get standout placement on Emcee Directory for two years – which means when event organizers search for emcees in your geographical area or area of expertise, they will see your profile first.

Second, you’ll leave with a clear post-workshop action plan — so you build new industry connections, begin positioning yourself as a standout emcee, and start generating new bookings straight away.

And third, you’ll be invited to join special monthly calls (for Booked & Paid Emcee Accelerator graduates only), where we’ll help you troubleshoot any challenges and continue scaling your emcee business.

You’ll never guess how to grow your emcee business again!

Is the workshop right for me?

Quite simply:

If you love being on stage and you’re hungry for more bookings, this workshop is right for you. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been emceeing for 20 years or you’ve never hosted a single event.  Nor does it matter if you want to make emceeing your full time income or use it alongside other paid speaking work. What matters is you want more time on stage – and you want to get paid well for every hour you spend on it.

If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in!

Are there payment options available?

Yes — depending on when you book and how close you are to the workshop date, payment plans may be available. The best thing to do is apply, and if you’re accepted, our booking agent, Lisa, will talk you through the options and help you find a plan that works for you.

Next workshop date: 17th - 19th JULY, 2026

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, US

Availability: Strictly 20 seats at each workshop.

If you can’t attend this date, you can still apply for a seat and, if accepted, secure your place at a future workshop.
